The Strangest Thing
It’s the strangest thing: I’m looking forward to Monday. I’m excited to go back to work. What’s happening to me?
Something good I think. Also a factor is Amanda working on the weekends, which means I’m Left Behind to fend for myself for entertainment. I haven’t been paid yet, and Amanda gets her biweekly paycheck this Friday, so there’s no dough in my Special Fun Account. And damn it’s hot out, too hot to even sit outside and read.
Shark Week was a bitter disappointment. Every year I think, OK, they’ve been doing this for x (20) years now, and it’s popular, so they won’t have to be so sensationalistic. And every year I’m wrong. So many shows about humans (esp. Discovery Channel Divas) and humans getting attacked, where sharks are in the supporting or cameo roles. A yearly reminder that sharks are perfect creatures and we are not.
Mike and Chelle came over last evening to watch 300, still an awesome movie even if historically-anal people with no understanding of historiography bitch about it. The local wine they brought–Naughty Marietta from Nissley’s vineyard (I used to work in Marietta)–was an exceptional red for being Pennsylvanian.
I absolutely love living and working downtown. Walking ten minutes to work is the best thing ever invented. Next to Amanda.

Love that picture
Oh, also, I’m assuming that means we can toss all that sharkweek stuff on the DVR?
Where is that pic from? It’s really good/cute.
Also, I’m glad to hear that you love the job! And we had a great time friday night. I’d like to try more Nissley wine.
The photo’s from my brother’s wedding, and I love it too. They had great photographers.
Timothy–there are one or two shows on the DVR I’d like to watch if you haven’t already deleted them.
I haven’t, nor am I in a hurry to. Just let me know.
“even if historically-anal people with no understanding of historiography bitch about it”
No understanding? I’d say that they still have an understanding; it’s just a very limited one.
And no, I haven’t yet seen it. My brother and I are plotting out a time when we can see it.
I am also looking forward to 300. Damn the “homophobic!” naysayers and the “homoerotic!” naysayers and the torpedoes.
Glad you like the job that much. Sounds like a terrific fit.
